Tartini festival 2013 – International Classical Music Festival

Dear friends of the Tartini Festival,

this year’s opening concert will be marked by our famous festival ensemble, Il Terzo Suono , on august 29 in Piran’s St. George’s church. They will be performing works by A. Vivaldi, G. Tartini and A. Corelli.

The interesting French piano and violin duo  – with Amaury Coyteaux , the first violin of the French radio orchestra and the exceptional Frederic Lagarde  – will present an always exciting programme featuring works by Debussy, Faure and G. Tartini.

After touring the greatest concert halls the world over, the celebrated soloist and professor at the Vienna conservatory, Gernot Winischofer , is visiting us accompanied by Robert Lehrbaumer .

The young Austrian string quartet, Testore , named after the famous Italian violin maker, will also be performing for us. The quartet appears on numerous stages all over the world, and this year we will have the opportunity to see them live at our festival as well.

Giardino d’Amore , a baroque music ensemble from Krakow, will be performing with the famous Tartini’s violin.

As for our next performer, Lisa Jacobs , the Dutch Telegraaf newspaper had this to say about her: ”Musical mastery of this calibre is rarely heard.” Lisa will offer us a violin solo performance.

A part of the programme will be dedicated to young musicians this year as well, and they will perform in the Tartini Junior series of concerts. Vita Benko , flute, and Miha Kosec , clarinet, will be introducing themselves along with young graduates of the Salzburg Mozarteum.
